FirstFound - SEO Company

07.29.08

With my second wage packet from firstfound approaching, I think it’s about time that I wrote something about my new employer, no butt-kissing, just an honest opinion into my thoughts about the company and the SEO industry as a whole.

No matter what anyone says, SEO is essential for any website (read: whitehat), and I think that firstfound have done a great job it making real SEO accessible to those that don’t always have the marketing budget of a larger corporation. If you put what firstfound do in context; we deliver customers to the doorstep of a shop and entice them in. It is then the role of the business to convert those potential customers into sales. We do a very good job in essentially generating leads for customers but sometimes that just isn’t enough.

Not 100% of our customers have realistic thoughts about what SEO can do for their website. Some think that profits will increase tenfold in a week or two, some think they won’t have to pursue any other type of marketing. The truth is that neither are true. If you don’t have a website capable of converting potential customers or your business model is simply wrong, then no matter how many potential customers SEO brings to your door, you won’t see a return. At firstfound we often go above and beyond our duties of “SEO Consultants” and should have a more general title such as a “Web Consultant”. We often point out; usability errors, accessibility errors and readability errors. All of which, if corrected by the customers web designer, helps the customer out with their conversions which is the essential part of a profitable business.

At firstfound every single SEO Consultant wants to see each customer do well and get a good financial return from our service, it gives us that warm tingly feeling inside (and more referred customers!)

Can 30 minutes work really be worth £100? We’ll find out in a couple of weeks…
